No one starts a business for the bookkeeping.
Except for me. That’s exactly what I did - lucky for you.
Good bookkeeping shouldn’t be something you have to think about. It should quietly support your business in the background, giving you accurate financial information you can rely on whenever you need it – because you have better things to do.

Why Northbound Is Different
Good Bookkeeping Requires Context
My background extends well beyond bookkeeping and gives me an understanding of how financial information is created, interpreted, and used to run a business.
I began my career in public accounting as a tax CPA working closely with businesses and business owners. I then spent the next decade at the corporate headquarters of a major financial institution where I saw firsthand how accurate, timely financial information supports confident business decisions. These experiences shape the way I think about bookkeeping today.
This is also why I intentionally work with a limited number of clients. Good bookkeeping requires context. The more I understand your business, the more valuable your financial reporting becomes.
Bookkeeping Should Help You Manage Your Business, Not Be Another Thing You Have to Manage
Good bookkeeping shouldn’t require your supervision. It should be organized, dependable, and fit naturally into the way your business operates. Throughout my career, I’ve managed complex client engagements, coordinated enterprise initiatives, and oversaw processes that kept work moving forward. I bring all that experience to bookkeeping.
My goal is to create a process that’s organized, reliable, and runs smoothly behind the scenes—so you’re not chasing deadlines, wondering what’s been completed, or managing your bookkeeping on top of everything else.
Monthly Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting
For businesses ready to hand off the day-to-day bookkeeping and have it handled consistently and reliably each month. You’ll have accurate, up-to-date books, and regular reporting that keeps you informed and prepared for tax season.
Cleanup & Catch-Up Bookkeeping
For businesses whose books have fallen behind, need some cleanup, or simply need a fresh start. This one-time service brings your historical records up to date and leaves you with accurate, current books that are ready for tax preparation or ongoing bookkeeping.
Special Projects & Support
For businesses that need experienced help with a defined project or issue outside of routine bookkeeping. My background spans accounting plus years coordinating projects across business groups at a large financial institution, which lets me support a broad range of financial and administrative work.
Hi, I'm Anna!
owner of Northbound Financials
After years in public accounting and at a major financial services firm, I realized I enjoyed working directly with business owners far more than working inside a large organization.
So I started Northbound Financials to build the kind of bookkeeping practice I’d want if I owned a business myself. Organized, responsive, and built around long-term relationships instead of high client volume.
The Right Fit Matters
Bookkeeping is a relationship, not a transaction.
Northbound Financials is designed for established professional service businesses that want more than books that are simply kept up to date. You value expertise, consistency, and a bookkeeping relationship built on trust and responsiveness.
If you’re looking for bookkeeping that’s grounded in how your business actually operates, by someone invested in more than closing the books each month, you’re in the right place.
Happy Clients
Don't Just Take My Word for It
“Anna is exceptionally organized, thoughtful, and dependable. She has a rare ability to take complex financial information, bring structure to it, and communicate it in a way that makes people feel confident in both the numbers and the person handling them.”
